Before Jesus Changed My Life
I was looking for hope in a broken world, filling trouble and pain with temporary numbing, looking for purpose in every aspect of myself and my career as a baseball player. Realizing my identity was in something that could be taken away in a second. Lost, hurt, and lonely. I was looking for a way to live a life I could trust through everything and a direction to head into. I had a weight on my heart that I couldn’t escape.
How Jesus Changed My Life
Jesus Christ saved me. I was lost, but now I am found. Blind, but now I can see. Thanks be to God! As I was driving down a highway, thinking, “How can I get myself out of this rut I'm in?” The presence and voice of the Lord said, “Why haven’t you tried it with me?' Looking up, I saw a Jesus sign and thought to myself, “Why haven’t I tried it with Jesus?” I went back to church for the first time in 7 years and felt a calm, breath of fresh air like I had never had before with every Word of God preached. There was an invitation to step forward if you needed prayer, and I did. In my heart, I was on the fence. Not knowing what following Jesus would look like, I prayed the strongest prayer I have ever prayed. I said, “Lord, I want to know you. Send me someone to show me your way.” Then the pastor stopped preaching and came right to me. Right then and there, I confessed with my tongue, making our Lord the Lord of my life, and I was saved. By faith through because of his grace. Not a doing of me but a direct doing of our Father in heaven. The weight was off, and I was free. “Seek first in the kingdom of heaven and all its righteousness and all else shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) There I was seeking, and all else since then has been added.
My Life After Jesus Saved Me
Through faith and loving the Lord, he has led me to the path of freedom from the brokenness and chains of this world. The Lord promises to give eternal life to anyone who confesses because He wants a relationship with us. Ephesians 2:4 says, “that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)”. I sought and found the life of freedom because of God, “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:8) Our Lord, rich in mercy, cleaned me up in the shower. He was that shower, now with a new heart from God, I live for him every day.
